WordFinder for PC

Question: Is it possible to run WordFinder on a computer with Windows Vista?
Answer: Yes. WordFinder Professional 9.2 works with Windows Vista. If you have got WordFinder Professional 9.0 or 9.1, you can download a patch from our website that will upgrade the program to 9.2.

Question: I am trying to install WordFinder from a CD but the installation locks and will not continue?
Answer: First, you should try to temporarily inactivate your antivirus software.
If this does not work, you should copy the files from the CD and save them on your computer and run the installation from there.
Open the CD and look at the contents in Windows explorer. Copy everything from the CD. Paste it into a folder locally on your computer. Then start the installation by double-clicking on the install.exe-files.

Question: The installation of WordFinder stops and displays a "Copying file Lpa93de.ttf" message.
Answer: First try and restart the computer and run the installation again. If that does not help browse to a folder named Utils in the installation CD where there is a file called Installwithoutfonts.exe. Double-click on the file to start the installation.

Question: The codes for the installation are not correct.
Answer: Are you typing the right code? The code consists of 8 capital letters. There is also a connection between the code and the CD. There is a CD-number on the license certificate. You have to use the CD with the same number for the installation.

Question: We have a 5-user license and even though only 5 persons have the program installed, they get a message that the number of licenses has been exceeded.
Answer: Delete the WFL.DATfile in the installation folder for WordFinder (C:\program\Wfwin). Then you can log on again. If this problem occurs again you should check if there really are licenses for the number of users involved.
Note that the license is counted per user and there is no licensing for the concurrent use of the program.

Question: I have installed WordFinder and the dictionaries that I have bought but there are no dictionaries to choose from in the program.
Answer: Open WordFinder and go to Tools – Dictionary management – File path to dictionaries. Browse to the folder where your dictionaries are stored. If you have carried out a default installation, the dictionaries are found in c:\program files\Wfwin.
Do not forget to press Add when you have found the file path.
If you need to search for your dictionaries on the computer be aware that each dictionary requires 2 files with the file extensions .wfd and .wfi.
